Gib mal ne seriöse Prognose ab, falls möglich. Rechnest du nicht auch mit einem WO ?
Ich rechne mit einem Antritt Federers und umkämpften Match. Entweder AO 2016 (nur von beiden viel schlechteres Niveau) oder Wimbledon 2019 mit einem sehr guten Federer und einem durchschnittlichen Djokovic, mit offenem Ausgang, diesmal Sieg Federer. Das sind so zwei mögliche Szenarien, aus meiner Sicht. Wenn einer der beiden absolut peakt und der andere angeschlagen ist oder sehr schlecht spielt, dann sind natürlich Überfahrungen immer möglich.

Ja, aber es kann immer noch passieren... Allerdings wenn man ganz rational überlegt, dann wird Federer auf jeden Fall probieren , zu spielen. Wenn es nicht geht, dann kann er immer noch während der Partie aufgeben. Wo ist das Problem?

Kannst dich noch ans US Open Finale von Nadal gegen Medvedev erinnern? Eines der härtesten Finals, nicht nur für Nadal, auch für uns Zuschauer, weil er bis weit in die Nacht ging. Und warum? Die Chancenverwertung im 3. Satz. Ein billig vergebener Volley und ein Schmetterball sind mir da als Gipfel der Fehler in Erinnerung geblieben. Letztlich war Medvedev im 5. kurz vor dem Break zu 2-0, am Ende war Rafa 2 Breaks vorne und hat noch mal gewaltig gewackelt. Ein echter Fight eben, der so aber nicht hätte sein müssen. Und genau das ist Rafas Problem seit einigen Jahren. Diese bedingungslose mentale Stärke aus seinen Peak Jahren hat er nicht mehr. Siehe heute die verspielten Breaks. Und egal wie du zu Thiem stehst, wenn du das Match im nachhinein sehen würdest, würdest du mir zustimmen: Der hat Weltklasse gespielt. Und ihn zu schlagen, hätte es ebenfalls einen Weltklasse Nadal gebraucht. Es war aber nur ein guter Nadal da.
